Reflecting on singing Easter Oratorio

at home. Very touching.

Here is the recording of the Easter concert in Szeged.
I’m really happy to go home and sing. It’s not always easy; my roles sometimes get a bit confusing, I’m once again sleeping in my childhood bedroom, my evening dress is hanging there, the delightful relatives and cool friends are coming, and I also want to be cool while I’m preparing.
At these concerts, I always realize how much I’ve grown. Not just technically, but also in how I behave in the same situation and how well I can control my nerves. I mostly worry about what the orchestra thinks, what the Vaszy choir behind me thinks, Enikő néni (former piano teacher), my former teachers in the audience, the Williams family from next door, Mom’s friends, and so on. The calmest 10 minutes for me are while I’m singing the aria. I really loved the piece and it was a pleasure to perform with Julcsi Somogyi.
